JERMUK, BACK TO URSS

In the Armenian SPA town of Jermuk, a former cultural centre has turned into an open cemetery of the URSS era.

On a night walk through the relics of the building, visitors can come across statues of once-prominent painters and writers. But today, these Soviet characters are just left staring into the void. During the Soviet era, almost every town had its own Dom Kultury (House of Culture). Not today.
